Thank you for joining me today for Day 5 of my 365 Photography Project. We are having a crazy spring here in SouthWestern Ontario. It is the middle of April and it is snowing outside! Yuck!! I would normally be photographing flowers and new blossoms by this time of year, however, until the weather turns around for us I will have to be creative in thinking of new subjects for my 365 project.
For today's post I continue to explore my youth and have chosen to use marbles as my focal point. To be honest I found this to be somewhat challenging. My first thought was to line up the marbles and take advantage of leading lines, but I was not able to make this idea work. So I went back to the drawing board and thought it would be fun to photograph the marbles inside a glass container (see image 1). While the outcome was better than my first idea I was still feeling unsatisfied with my results. After some more thought I came up with idea that It might be neat to combine the colours of the marbles with the freshly fallen snow outside (see image 2). After taking the first shot I knew I had a winner.
Sometimes the difference between a good shot and an extraordinary shot is nothing more than changing your perspective on maybe switching your location, In this case, adding the marbles to the snow outside really helped make the image more interesting and fun to look at. Next time your photographing something change your perspective and you may be pleasantly surprised how much this simple thing can improve your photography.
Don't forget if you want to join me in doing your own 365 project visit my FaceBook group and share your photos with us. Have fun and continue making great shots. Until tomorrow hope everyone has an awesome day.
